Scenic & Light, Inc. is proud to introduce a new business meeting
set for the new challenges we face in today’s economy. With the
direct attacks the face-to-face marketing community has received, on
top of the recession, our customers are changing their purchasing
behaviors. There is increased frugality and a desire for less
opulent productions while the desire for quality is still very much
present.
With this
new reality clearly in mind, we developed the following list of
design criteria that are extremely cost conscious. We started with
these logistical needs and then developed a stage set to fulfill
that mission.
The first
idea is that the set will be packaged so it can be shipped by common
carrier. This will allow a production company operating outside of
Orlando to offer this set at a very reasonable cost to their clients
regardless of the distance from our shop.
Second,
this set is designed to be installed onsite easily by stage hands
without a lead carpenter from our shop. This is a substantial shift
in the manner we have traditionally operated. It is a fundamental
change for us, but change is required, to meet the cost goals we
have designated for this set. We have designed this structure to use
aluminum extrusions. The frames are manufactured with a track for
Plexiglas panels and the beams lock together with a simple cam.
Third, the
set packs easily into three road cases that are quite compact for
the size of the set and can fit into a cargo van for efficient
deliveries to all Florida cities. The approximate measurements of
the shipping containers are 12’ 4” long x 2’ wide x 1’ tall. The
second container is approximately 8’ 4’ long x 2’ wide x 1’ tall.
The third crate is approximately 3’ long x 2’ wide x 1’ tall.
Fourth,
since this set is reusable it is very GREEN. We plan to create an
impact report, available in due course, that will show the set to be
quite environmentally friendly. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle are major
drivers of this creative. An additional idea is to use low wattage,
high output, LED lighting to make the set come alive while
continuing to protect the environment and the budget.
Fifth, this
set is to have a maximum height of 12’ to be able to fit into the
greatest number of venues as well as to be shipped most efficiently.
Sixth, this
set is designed to have a 2 or 3 screen architecture. It is also
modular and can fit comfortably on a 24’, 32’, 40’ and 48’ stage.
Lastly, it
is very cost effective to rent;
For
events in Orlando CS&L can deliver, set-up and dismantle for
$5000.00 per week.
For events in
Florida CS&L can deliver, set-up and dismantle for $5500.00 per
week.
For events
outside of Florida we can do a dock rental for $4250.00 per week
plus freight.
These are
very aggressive prices for a hard set, but we feel the system we
have designed can support the quality corporate meetings demand,
while keeping the cost under control.
